ALP is fully bilingual (English–Spanish), built specifically for agriculture, and taught by trainers with decades of experience in the industry. Our instructors understand the realities you face every day and connect leadership lessons to real-life challenges.

We offer two courses per year and rotate locations between Yakima, Wenatchee, and Richland.

We limit classes to 15 participants per language to ensure meaningful interaction and participation.

Our 9 bilingual trainers are deeply connected to both agriculture and education. They share a passion for embracing culture, honoring different perspectives, and making every class meaningful. Learn more about the team in the About Us section.

The program lasts 3 months. In-person classes are once a week, usually every Friday, for 6 weeks. After that, participants enter a 6-week leadership practice period before returning for graduation on week 12.

ALP is different from any technical course in the industry. Instead of focusing on production or safety topics, we explore leadership skills that are rarely discussed in agriculture. You’ll dive into the power of vulnerability, how to make lasting changes in your behavior, and the idea that everyone leads. You’ll also practice communication, empathic listening, handling difficult conversations, emotional intelligence, stress management, coaching, delegation, conflict resolution, core values, and more.  The course is hands-on, interactive, and always tied to agricultural examples. After the in-person sessions, each participant chooses one leadership skill to practice at work using the “ALP Assignment Form.” At week 12, you return to present your experience in a short 5-minute presentation. You can present with PowerPoint, a vision board, a collage, or simply by speaking. The ALP team gives you a guide to help prepare.

Very! Classes include team-building activities, group discussions, pair conversations, and real-life agricultural case studies.

To graduate, you must attend 6 in-person classes. You may make up to 2 missed classes in the next cohort, and you’ll receive your certificate once those classes are completed.

Yes. Graduates who complete the program and present their final project will receive an official ALP certificate.

Yes. We currently offer one scholarship for the English course and one for the Spanish course. If you’re interested, please contact us and we’ll work with you to explore financial support.
