Who We Are

Growing Leaders in Agriculture

Taking agriculture to the next level.

The Agricultural Leadership Program (ALP) was created by the Washington State Tree Fruit Association (WSTFA) and the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) to help agricultural leaders strengthen key skills such as emotional intelligence, communication, stress management, and collaborative conflict resolution, building the foundation for stronger relationships and more supportive workplaces.

Led by a team of exceptional bilingual and bicultural trainers with deep roots in agriculture, ALP combines real-world experience with leadership expertise to deliver training that truly connects with the people it serves.

"Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply".

– Stephen Covey

Leadership at the Core

Meet the Founders of ALP

Our founders, Ofelio Borges and Jacqui Gordon, laid the foundation of ALP with the belief that leadership and education can transform the future of farming communities. Their passion continues to inspire every generation of participants.

A Note from the Founders

When we created the Agricultural Leadership Program, our dream was simple: to make sure no supervisor has to face the challenges of leadership alone. We know how hard it is to be promoted without the tools to guide others, and we believe every leader deserves training, support, and encouragement.

ALP was built from the heart, shaped by our own experiences, and strengthened by the voices of those working every day in agriculture. We believe that everyone can lead, and that true leadership comes from trust, respect, and vulnerability.

It is our honor to walk alongside you on this journey of growth. Together, we can create workplaces where people feel valued, teams work with confidence, and agriculture continues to thrive for generations to come.

— Ofelio Borges & Jacqui Gordon Nunez
